Well, I have read the first chapter. In summary, here is all it says. "Men like water. I am going on a whaling voyage." Although, he uses about a thousand more words than me. I really do enjoy the way he writes though. :)
I am about 60 pages in and enjoying much more than I anticipated. What fun. I like the antiquated and offensive description of the "savage native" Queequeg. Really interesting to look at a time piece like this. I was reading the front jacket, calls this the "great American Novel, by which all other works will be judged"... discussion anyone. Oh and my new favorite all time quote: "I would rather sleep with a sober cannibal than a drunken Christian." xoxo Kel
